Fourth and Fifth Classes' visit to Bandon Co-Op

After leaving O'Sullivan's Farm (Gro-oil) we continued on to Bandon Co-Op to see how butter is packed and stored. We saw the pound mahcine first. Most exciting of all were the two minipack machines which produce 7g minipacks. Bandon Co-op pack butter for other creameries also.

There are only two creameries in the entire country producing minipacks of butter. Bandon Co-op is one of the two. The butter is made during the summer months and stored in the cold room where they pack it during the rest of the year.
